Since 1979

Colombia's first hikers' organization

An open, democratic and participatory institution that makes the right to ecological recreation a reality.

Who we are

A community with purpose

The Sal Si Puedes Colombian Hikers' Foundation is an open institution, democratic and participatory in character, that fulfills the social function of making effective the right to ecological recreation, held by every human being, without any limitation based on race, nationality, creed, sex, or economic or social condition.

We are pioneers of hiking in Colombia. We promote this activity as a way to make the country's trails known, conserve the environment and its natural resources, and encourage respect for the cultural identity of the destinations we visit.

A Colombian environmental foundation — non-governmental, universal, participatory and non-profit — that, through ecological hikes, multi-day outings and cultural programs across the towns of Colombia, improves hikers' quality of life on a personal, family and collective level, fostering the conservation of nature through knowledge, respect and rational use.

Vision

To be a non-profit organization that promotes the social, environmental and quality standards that ensure the sustainability of tourism, as one of the pillars of economic development, environmental conservation and the cultural pride of local communities.

General objective

To advance and foster recreation in contact with nature — in favor of ecology, culture, informal education, sport, the environment and sustainable tourism, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals — as a means of leisure, health, and the rational use of free time that improves individual, family and collective quality of life.
