Who can take part in the 1-day hikes?
Everyone is welcome! In keeping with our social mission, our routes are designed for all audiences: from experienced hikers to those who walk little but share a love of nature. You do not need to be an athlete, only to want to disconnect and enjoy a safe space in community.
How do I know which hike to choose for my fitness level?
We classify our routes with musical notes: DO-RE (beginners, 5 to 9 km, low difficulty, ideal for families); MI-FA-SOL (intermediate, 9 to 16 km, frequent climbs and greater demand); LA-SI (experts, 16 to 30 km, very demanding, high-performance routes).
What does the registration fee for a 1-day hike include?
Each hike includes the constant accompaniment of certified expert guides, private transportation to and from Bogotá (depending on the scheduled route), travel insurance and the logistical backing of an institution with more than 45 years of experience.
What should I pack for a one-day trek?
Comfortable quick-drying clothing, hiking boots or shoes with good grip (avoid smooth sneakers), a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, trekking poles (optional but recommended), water (at least 1.5 liters), a good trail lunch or energy snacks, and your ID.
What time do we leave and when do we return to Bogotá?
We usually meet very early (between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.) on the south side of El Campín stadium: Cra 30 # 53-82, Primax service station. The return to Bogotá is usually in the afternoon or at dusk (roughly between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.), depending on the destination and traffic.
Can I come with children or minors?
Yes, children are especially welcome on our DO-RE routes or family hikes. Minors must always be accompanied by and under the responsibility of an adult, ensuring they enjoy a pace suited to their age.
What happens if it rains on the day of the hike?
Rain is part of the magic of the mountains! Unless there are official public safety alerts or extreme weather conditions that put the group at risk, hikes go ahead. Good waterproof gear is enough to enjoy the scenery in complete safety.
