On January 6, 1979, Sal Si Puedes was born, the first hikers' organization founded in Colombia. What began as a group of mountain lovers became a movement.
On June 5, 1988, when World Environment Day was celebrated for the first time, the Foundation began its existence as a legal entity, cementing its environmental calling.
Since then we have been pioneers of Colombian hiking, promoting the activity as a way to explore the country's paths, conserve the environment and respect the cultural identity of each destination.
As Antonio Machado inspires us: "There is no path, the path is made by walking." And we keep making that path, step by step, together.
